Omerta
Like "Fight Club," the first rule of the Mafia is you don't talk about the Mafia. Known as the Omerta, the mafia oath of silence is of the greatest importance and, if broken, is punishable by death. Biagio DiGiacomo, convicted of racketeering for the Providence family (see above court document), told the Boston Globe in 1991, "Nobody can help us if we ever give up this secret to anybody, any kinds of friends of mine, let's say. This thing cannot be exposed."
